Madrona Woods is a 9.2-acre forested hillside in the city-owned Madrona Park near Lake Washington, due east of downtown Seattle.  It is named both for the city neighborhood in which it is located and for the Pacific madrona trees which grow on the site.  Its eastern boundary is Lake Washington Boulevard and its western boundary is 38th Avenue. It stretches from Spring Street on the north to Columbia Street on the south. There are main entrances at 38th and Marion, Spring and Grand, and Lake Washington Boulevard across from the dance studio, and secondary entrances at 38th and Columbia, 38th near the northwest corner, and Spring and Newport.
